Most people when they come to a new church want to find out what the church does.  In most cases that would mean what programs they offer to people.  The River Church is a little different than that.  We choose to do very little programatically as a church.  We choose to keep thing simple and focus on what we consider the most important things for a church to be involved in.  For us that means, our weekly gathering for worship and life groups that meet in people’s homes.

These two things reflect in our mission as a church:  Love God, Love People, and Change the World.  Our weekly gatherings allow us to focus on loving God, not just on Sunday’s but prepare us to do that all week long.  Our Life groups give us a chance to learn to love others in a smaller environment and give us opportunities to love the community around us.

We want our church to be focused on seeing the world changed by the power of the gospel in their lives.  For this to happen we believe people need to live out their faith in the world and display who God is through word and deed.  That means our people cannot spend all their time in a building.  They must be out in the world loving God and loving people.
